This image of Suriname's top model and my dear friend Aby-Jo was shot for Surinamese designer Wilma Stomp. The image was used in a flyer about her work for her participation at the XVth Caribbean Gifts and Crafts Show in Barbados this year. Suriname had never participated in the fashion design category and as such Wilma was relatively unknown. The oprganisation scheduled her originally as the opening act of the fashion show. When they say the flyer and the 6 images of Aby-Jo that we shot for the flyer, they decided that Wilma would be the final act of the show and the main attraction for the evening.
The judges and the public where actually rightfully impressed and Wilma won the Best New Designer Award during the show.
Caribbean Fashion Week should be the next target, and I hope we all will be there, Representing!!
