It was a wonderful way of spending the last dawn before my birthday this year. On a beautiful saturday afternoon, not sure whether it would rain or shine, we all jumped into the car and took off to Nieuw Amsterdam, where the Suriname River and the Commewijne River join before flowing into the sea. Historiccally this has been one of the principal points of defense back in the days when Suriname was a colony and French, English and Dutch would fight for the riches of the land.
More and more I desire to shoot outdoors, I guess that is a natural progression of one's creative desires, I think I got a beautiful sky as a backdrop to my two beautiful models, Kimberly and Valerie. While Fausto was working the reflectors, and Naomi guiding the poses, my 7 year old son Kyle was taking snapshots and "polaroids", I had to work quickly to catch the last rays of light.
It really made my day, if only I could think of a tilte for the shot...suggestions are welcome :)

This looks like something from an old film. I like the old-fashioned look combined with the intrepid explorer look of these women (the fancy dresses notwithstanding).

Love the composition Patrick and particularly the pose of the seated model. Great strength. Would make a fabulous shot if it was just her sat on that old canon. I like it.

I'm not sure anyone wants to hear this from me, but since no one else has said it (just thought it, I'm quite sure!), this is one of the most erotic photos I have ever seen on SC! And that's all I'll say about that (other than to say it shows to go ya that you don't ever need to go nude to elicit it)!

Pat, you continue to amaze us with you're quest for excellence..
The foreground with the grass, the bricks, the models and the canon combine well with the natural scenery of the background.
Not to mention the effect of the light. It adds that finishing touch to this (already) beautiful photograph.
Someone whispered in my ear that these two models are a dream for every photographer to work with. I’ve heard that they communicate well with the photographer and have a very creative input. Two thumbs up for the lovely Val and Kim
You're not only lucky to have such excellent models Patrick ....

This is a great shot Patrick. Quality work my friend. You have lots of comments already, but I must mention the composition. Brave to go for the landscape format AND to place two models at the edge, it works perfectly for me.
Patrick Krolis: Part of the landscape format came from how this photograph came about. Never before I executed a photograph with such a defined vision in my head, the vision started developing a few months ago, and the first thing that I knew how I would like it was the sky. So it was only normal to give the sky the most prominent space in the composition
