photoblog image Anthony Nekrui
Anthony Nekrui is the fourht fighter from Simson's Gym. At the same Thai Box Gala, where I saw Andy my previous post I saw Anthony finish a match before I was aware that the match had started, the bell went and the opponenent was knockout, at least it felt like that. Determined, focused and the eye of a champion!!
I have had very little time to answer comments and even worse to visit my buddies blogs, Holiday season means a lot of social activities and very little time for the internet. I am sure it will all get relaxter somewhere in the second week of January, until then I'll try to visit and answer as much as possible without giving any guarantees....
Ok now off to the next party...

This works quite well. The strong light fits the subject.
Patrick Krolis: Thank you very much Martin, I deliberately choose for the strong light here, and even helped it a bt wih the postprocessing since I thought it fit the subject

Michael Rawluk from Canada 29 Dec 2007, 02:01
Once again, great lighting that really suits the pose.
Patrick Krolis: Thanks Michael, I somehow got inspired by the old black and white television, on which I saw Cassius Clay (later Muhamed Ali) boxing for the first time when I was a kid...guess that is a long time ago smile

superb use of lighting. The b/w is most appropriate for this image.
Patrick Krolis: oh yes thanks you rags, as I was telling muhammed ali in the days when he was still cassius clay inspired the strong lighting and the added grain in the postprocessing, thank you for the compliment

blackdog from Great Britain (UK) 29 Dec 2007, 09:19
Perfect lighting for this strong moody shot - looks great from the low angle.
Patrick Krolis: wanted to create a sense of greatness hence the low angle, the lightning which I nehanced during the postprocessing and the added grain are inspired by my memories of seeing a Cassius Clay(Muhammed Ali) fight on b/w TV when I was a kid.

Suby & Sinem from Milton Keynes, UK 29 Dec 2007, 17:16
Now this one is looking like the best image so far in the series, but not sure yet smile
Patrick Krolis: Well I took a chance once, you actually found a better one in the series, now the question is will I take another shot at it or not? I'll be thinking a while before I post tonight smile Thanks Sub & Sin

DrAW! from nigeria 29 Dec 2007, 18:48
powerful image
great lighting
better without the grain i think
Patrick Krolis: Hey Doc, I think it might be differnt without the grain, but could not do it without the grain as in my artistic crativity, my insparation came from years ago, watching Cassius Clay (Muhammed Ali) boxing on the old b/w television from my dads lap. You will agree with me that the grain has some role here!!

deji77 from Great Britain (UK) 30 Dec 2007, 15:01
love this Patrick smile
Patrick Krolis: Thank you so much Deji!!!

Ginnie from United States 1 Jan 2008, 01:37
For me, Patrick, the lighting doesn't get better than this!

Happy New Year!!
Patrick Krolis: Happy New YEAR Ginnie, thank you so much, been away too long from behind my laptop, all these parties smile

Scarlet from Netherlands 1 Jan 2008, 17:11
The lighting is awesome and so it's the subject here smile. Happy New Year Patrick!
Patrick Krolis: Happy New Year Scarlett, I decided to leave this on until I came back in the new year, just so you could keep on enjoying it wink

Josť-Angel from Catalonia 11 Jan 2008, 00:11
De nuevo, el uso de la luz y la sombra. Sabes trabajar con ello. Te felicito!
Patrick Krolis: si Jose-Angel, este es uno de los tecnicas que yo creio que lo se utilizar....:d
