photoblog image Rachel

Model Credit: rachelcheeatow from www.bodynsoulmodels.com

The year is almost coming to an end, so I went back to my archives and am posting from the very first shoot I did in 2007, on January 2, Rachel cmae with Bombelman, and we had a quick session. I have a shoot today, so I will only be able to return to the blog tomorrow morning. Hope you enjoy it, just realised it is almost a year I am blogging on Shutterchance. I should prepare something special for that day :)

On another note, I have not beenblogging this week although I have some more material to post. Have had no time for the postprocessing as yet, but you should see it later this week.

For now, when you are done looking at Rachel, pay me a visit on my renewed bodyNsoul Photography website.

if the link doesnt work just go to http://www.bodynsoulphotography.com/

Neil Tandy from Johannesburg, South Africa 11 Dec 2007, 18:23
You are so damn lucky man!!! Beautiful photography and PP as always Patrick. Many kind regards, Neil.
Patrick Krolis: Hey Neil Thank you very much for the compliments. On the other hand I wouldn't mind trading one weekend in the year with you, then you can shoot my models and I will shoot one of your races. That is if I will remember to click, I guess I'll be so much fascinated by the bikes or the cars, that I might forget to do some photography along the way wink

Ellie from in front of the fire 11 Dec 2007, 18:56
It's a nice picture Patrick, but you know, I think you're doing better work now. smile
Patrick Krolis: Thanks Ellie, I think I am improving too, the thing I hate is that my portraits are getting visibly better, it is my art inspired photography that suffers. For most people my latest portraits are my best, and my oldest art is the best. While that might have it's benefits, it is where my photography is taking me, and not where I am taking my photography Wow, I sound complicated here, anyway, Thank you very much for your comment...wink

johnnyg from Great Britain (UK) 11 Dec 2007, 21:02
Ellie is right and I like your reply to her, strange how things work out but what would you prefer, to go where you will or let your photography lead you ? Not sure you can do both.
Patrick Krolis: Now that is a good question J. A very good question I am not sure I know the answer myself. I always firmly believed that one should do what one is good at. Having said that the question still remains how do you get better at what you do? Where is the real talent, where does the creativity come.

I would love to do art inspired fashion photography, I guess for that I would need, good technical skills AND artistic creativity smile We'll see, one thing is for sure, I definitely want to pay all the bills and more with my photography wink

Louis from South Africa 11 Dec 2007, 22:53
That thing about art and photography (reply to Ellie) - as the one improves the other will follow. It is like learning a new technique, as soon as you have mastered it you will start applying it. You will see smile

I think this is an excellent picture, mostly how you have managed light in the process.
Patrick Krolis: You definitely are shining a logical but new light on my creative identity crisis smile. I guess you are right, actually you got a point, learning a new technique and then applying it, that way one thing improves and the pther will follow. The thing I am most "worried" about, actually has a lot to do with that, I was feeling that I am improving technically and deteriorating my creativity along the way, but maybe, I have to be more patient and shoot my way out of this and see where it leads me.

Any way, Thanks for the comment and the compliment Louis smile
