The beautiful Chanaz, I am still sorting out the results of the shoot and will process my favorite pick later this week together with make up artist Gillian. Gilian and I have long decided to do portfolio work together as a project, and we finally started last Friday. More models to follow soon, just wanted to share this with you for now. Enjoy...

I love the lighting Patrick, that's the one thing I need to learn from you and Pawel but it's hard without being in a studio. If I can ever find the money I'd love to come to Suriname the people there are lovely and the shots that you are now showing us on your other blog make me want to come over there all the more.
Patrick Krolis: Thank you very much for the compliment Johnny!! With regard to the lighting and the studio, I have very good news for you!!! It is not all that what you imagine. Let me explain. The "studio" where I shot this is the smallest room in my house, if it measures 3 by 3 meters it is a lot. I have a black velvet cloth covering the floor and the back till the ceiling and used the 2 studio flashes. I bought the mobile set for US$ 800 from http://www.adorama.com a few years ago. A 500 Ws and a 300 Ws monolight. Today you can get a lot cheaper stuff for digital cameras at calumet.com. I also used a lightmeter from gossen which I bought at adorama too for US$ 250. Now you see why I bought the Nikon D200 instead of the Canon 5D wink, the point I am trying to make is that this kind of setup, lighting etc can be achieved with relatively very litte. The most important part actually is not to use on camera flash.

Anyway I'll be happy to have you as my guest in Suriname, you are very welcome!!!

Interesting,
whats that bottom right, sort of dragging my eyes away. I feel this will be a stronger image if it was in monochrome with maybe a ting of a color tone, also not 100% feeling the softness of her skin tone.

Suby
Patrick Krolis: Yip the thing on the bottom right is her pants and you are right it is kind of distracting. I will do a monochrome or duotone later today. With regard to the softness comment, pls help me out, my English is not sure how to interpret your words "not 100% feeling the softness of her skintone" what is it you are actually telling me? smile
